Accessibility Statement

We at Ransom, Inc. are working to make our site, jamesransom.nyc, accessible to people with disabilities. We believe everyone should be able to browse our photography, learn about our work, and get in touch with us, regardless of ability.

What Web Accessibility Is

Web accessibility means designing and building websites so that people with disabilities — including visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive disabilities — can perceive, navigate, understand, and interact with them. This generally includes considerations like sufficient color contrast, keyboard navigability, descriptive text alternatives for images, and compatibility with screen readers and other assistive technologies.

Accessibility Adjustments on This Site

We aim to align our website with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, and more user-friendly for everyone.

Our site is built on the Wix platform, which provides a number of built-in accessibility features. Measures currently in place or in progress include:

  • Descriptive alt text on portfolio and project images

  • Semantic heading structure for screen reader navigation

  • Sufficient color contrast between text and background in key content sections

  • Keyboard-navigable menus and forms

  • Compatibility with common screen reader software

Accessibility is an ongoing effort. As we update the Site, we review new content and features for accessibility before and after publishing.
